Its been a while since the last update but the blog should be being updated pretty regularly from now on with a lot of other commitments done and dusted.

First up there are a couple of changes to the England Home Nations team. Henry has been replaced by Gary whilst Paul Burke has accepted an offer to play for the Scottish team at the Home Nations and the ETC itself. We wish him well!

Allen, Rob and James are gaining valuable ETC style experience by playing on the barbarian team at the Home Nations which should stand them in good stead come August, especially Rob and James who are new to the somewhat unique style of gaming offered at the ETC.

The draw for the Home Nations was done at the final of the GWGT. England have the pleasure of the following draw:

  1. Round 1 vs Barbarians
  2. Round 2 vs Wales
  3. Round 3 vs Republic of Ireland
  4. Round 4 vs Scotland
  5. Round 5 vs Northern Ireland

It promises to be quite a shin dig and if it all goes wrong on the Saturday, heck even if it goes well, then we can enjoy a few beers in the Welsh sunshine admiring the local talent. And i don’t mean 40k players…!

Casting a view out from our tiny nation towards ‘the enemy’ lots of countries seem to be righting England off when it comes to the ETC which is charming. We’ll have to see if those nations are right or whether next year they should be a little more respectful towards us plucky brits!

Elsewhere games between team members have been continuing apace with Captain Alex West giving Neil Gibbons a morale boost by letting him win when they played recently. A report of the battle can be seen here: http://space-wolves-grey.blogspot.com/

The new Blood Angels are being rigorously playtested in anticipation of upcoming events. Their fast vehicles certainly do seem appealing when compared to the standard marine vehicles but is it enough to make them a more potent force than their codex variant…

Alex and Gary are off to attend SVA X next weekend which should be a hoot. Alex is taking a cobbled together Space Wolf army whilst Gary is taking something to be decided. Much beer and merriment should ensue.

The weekend after that is Warp Storm II held at Maelstrom Games lovely venue. A 1,750pt affair many of the ETC squad will be in attendance looking to do battle to the death. Details can be found here: http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/index.php?act=pro&pre=mae_evt_tkt_40k_002_000

So lots to look forward to and regular updates are planned so keep checking back to see what we are up to.
